Honda has established major manufacturing plants in the United States, and in 2013, it became the first Japanese carmaker to be a net exporter from the United States.
Under the Hood of Today’s Honda
Among its notable achievements, in 1986, Honda became the first Japanese automaker to manufacture a distinct luxury brand, the Acura. Honda is the world’s largest motorcycle manufacturer and has been since 1959. The company is one of the largest manufacturers of internal combustion engines and, as 2019, was producing more than 14 million engines per year. It also manufacturers other power equipment like lawn mowers, snow blowers, and outboard engines.

In terms of revenues, Honda generated a whopping $138 billion for the fiscal year 2018 and almost double the levels seen in 2005. It had become the fifth-largest carmaker in the world.
