The worst performers of the session were Janus Henderson Group PLC DRC (ASX:), which fell 12.20% or 3.880 points to trade at 27.930 at the close. Northern Star Resources Ltd (ASX:) declined 7.30% or 0.950 points to end at 12.060 and Adelaide Brighton Ltd (ASX:) was down 5.93% or 0.210 points to 3.330.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 695 to 541 and 351 ended unchanged.

AUD/USD was down 0.02% to 0.6843, while AUD/JPY rose 0.42% to 74.73.
