Nigeria Inflation Slows In July

Nigeria’s consumer price inflation slowed in July, figures from the National Bureau of Statistics showed on Friday.

The consumer price index rose 11.08 percent year-on-year in July, following a 11.22 percent increase in June.

On a month-on-month basis, consumer prices rose 1.01 percent in July, following a 1.07 percent decline in the preceding month.

The urban inflation was 11.43 percent annually in July and the measure rose 1.07 percent from the previous month.

The core inflation, which excludes the volatile prices of agricultural produce, slowed to 8.80 percent in July, from 8.84 percent in June.
