Taiwan consumer price inflation rose in August, data from the Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics said on Friday.
The consumer price index rose 0.43 percent year-on-year in August, after a 0.38 percent increase in July.
Excluding fruits, vegetables and energy, the core CPI rose 0.39 percent year-on-year in August.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices declined 0.02 percent in August.
Data also showed that the wholesale price index declined 3.44 percent annually in August, the same rate as seen in the preceding month.
On a month-on-month basis, wholesale prices rose 0.50 percent in August.
