Japan Overall Bank Lending Climbs 2.3% On Year

Overall bank lending in Japan was up 2.3 percent on year in February, the Bank of Japan said on Friday – coming in at 533.7 trillion yen.

That was down from 2.4 percent in January.

Excluding trusts, bank lending was up 2.4 percent on year to 464.4 trillion yen – unchanged from the previous month.

Lending from trusts was up 1.7 percent to 69.2 trillion yen, down from 1.9 percent a month earlier.

Lending from foreign banks advanced an annual 4.3 percent to 2.563 trillion yen, up from 1.3 percent in January.
