India stocks higher at close of trade; Nifty 50 up 0.79% By Investing.com

Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in NSE, the added 0.79%, while the index gained 0.75%.

The best performers of the session on the were Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (NS:), which rose 7.39% or 35.25 points to trade at 514.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Yes Bank Ltd (NS:) added 5.49% or 4.45 points to end at 85.35 and Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS:) was up 3.64% or 114.90 points to 3272.25 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (NS:), which fell 5.85% or 19.35 points to trade at 312.45 at the close. Cipla Ltd. (NS:) declined 3.19% or 16.55 points to end at 500.15 and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (NS:) was down 1.72% or 3.45 points to 198.10.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Yes Bank Ltd (BO:) which rose 5.30% to 85.40, Tech Mahindra Ltd (BO:) which was up 3.97% to settle at 671.00 and Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:) which gained 3.41% to close at 3268.40.

The worst performers were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (BO:) which was down 1.52% to 198.10 in late trade, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:) which lost 1.47% to settle at 2215.45 and Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:) which was down 1.31% to 1128.00 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1148 to 423 and 64 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1584 rose and 772 declined, while 112 ended unchanged.

Shares in Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (NS:) fell to 3-years lows; falling 5.85% or 19.35 to 312.45.

The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 2.80% to 16.1200.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.02% or 0.35 to $1476.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.35% or 0.19 to hit $54.88 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.13% or 0.08 to trade at $59.89 a barrel.

USD/INR was up 0.00% to 70.805, while EUR/INR rose 0.01% to 79.3215.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 97.303.
