Hong Kong’s jobless rate remained stable during the June to August period, data from the Census and Statistics Department showed on Tuesday.
The unemployment rate remained steady at 2.9 percent during the June to August period, same as in the previous three months.
The number of unemployed persons increased to 120,600 during the June to August period from 118,500 in the previous three months.
“As economic conditions have deteriorated further lately, the local labor market will unavoidably be subject to increasing pressure in the near term,” the Secretary for Labor and Welfare Law Chi-kwong said.
