Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the added 1.36%, while the index added 1.37%.
The best performers of the session on the were Safran SA (EPA:), which rose 4.11% or 4.32 points to trade at 109.46 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:) added 3.61% or 1.91 points to end at 54.87 and Legrand SA (EPA:) was up 3.58% or 3.00 points to 86.88 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:), which fell 4.75% or 4.48 points to trade at 89.80 at the close. Carrefour SA (EPA:) declined 2.95% or 0.60 points to end at 19.77 and Thales (EPA:) was down 1.84% or 2.35 points to 125.20.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Verallia (EPA:) which rose 11.42% to 25.96, Rexel (EPA:) which was up 6.36% to settle at 20.74 and Elior Group (EPA:) which gained 6.25% to close at 2.92.
The worst performers were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:) which was down 4.75% to 89.80 in late trade, Carrefour SA (EPA:) which lost 2.95% to settle at 19.77 and Mcphy Energy (EPA:) which was down 2.69% to 18.82 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 312 to 224 and 95 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.69% or 13.55 to $1,942.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.70% or 0.72 to hit $102.91 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.45% or 0.48 to trade at $107.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 100.58.
