Australia stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/ASX 200 up 0.92% By Investing.com

Investing.com – Australia stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Sydney, the added 0.92% to hit a new 1-month high.

The best performers of the session on the were Emeco Holdings Ltd (ASX:), which rose 9.14% or 0.170 points to trade at 2.030 at the close. Meanwhile, Nanosonics Ltd (ASX:) added 7.46% or 0.490 points to end at 7.060 and Pinnacle Investment Management Group Ltd (ASX:) was up 7.14% or 0.300 points to 4.500 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were CYBG PLC (ASX:), which fell 20.28% or 0.505 points to trade at 1.985 at the close. Whitehaven Coal Ltd (ASX:) declined 9.35% or 0.330 points to end at 3.200 and Pilbara Minerals Ltd (ASX:) was down 7.14% or 0.025 points to 0.325.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 751 to 470 and 349 ended unchanged.

Shares in CYBG PLC (ASX:) fell to all time lows; losing 20.28% or 0.505 to 1.985. Shares in Nanosonics Ltd (ASX:) rose to all time highs; up 7.46% or 0.490 to 7.060. Shares in Pilbara Minerals Ltd (ASX:) fell to 52-week lows; down 7.14% or 0.025 to 0.325.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 2.34% to 13.667 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.32% or 5.05 to $1555.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.50% or 0.28 to hit $55.98 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.35% or 0.21 to trade at $60.49 a barrel.

AUD/USD was up 0.18% to 0.6808, while AUD/JPY rose 0.26% to 72.48.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 98.498.
